Your ex is not special. This might sound harsh, but it’s crucial to demystify this common post-breakup illusion. Many of us elevate our exes to a near-mythical status, mistakenly believing they possess qualities that no one else could possibly match.
However, like everyone else, they have their flaws, quirks, and less-than-ideal traits. It’s time to take them off that pedestal and see them for who they really are: just another human being.
Today’s Suggestion:
Write down all the reasons you believe your ex is the only one for you, or why you think they were so perfect. Next to each reason, challenge these beliefs with realistic counterpoints.
